…hails Ozigbo and Chicason Boss on their emergence as Man of the Year
Foremost military cardiologist, Maj. Gen. Dr. A. E Life Ajemba will chair the prestigious Anambra Man of the Year award slated for 6th January, 2022 at the Stanel Dome, Awka. In a letter to Gen. Ajemba, the group stated that he was chosen based on the tremendous respect he commands not just in the Nigerian military setup but across board.
“Your career both as a medical doctor and as a military personnel have been most outstanding. You are one of the pride of the Nigerian military and that might not be unconnected with the reason a street was named after you at the Mogadishu Military Barack, Abuja. This is commendable”. They noted
Maj Gen Anthony Emeka Life Ajemba was born at Nguru, Yobe State Nigeria on 23 Jan 1960.His parents hail from Eziowelle in Idemili North Local Government area of Anambra State. He attended the St Augustine Nursery and Primary School Nguru and Uzubi Central School Eziowelle from 1964 to 1972.He then proceeded to the prestigious Nigerian Military School Zaria from 1973 to 1978 where he obtained the West African School Certificate with Grade 1 having 7As and 2Cs. He obtained MBBS with the merit award Distinction prize in Medicine in 1984 from University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He then attended the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital and University College Hospital Ibadan for His postgraduate specialization in Internal Medicine and Cardiology from 1995 to 2001 and obtained the Fellowship of the Medical College of Physicians (FMCP) specializing in cardiology in 2001 from the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria. He retired from the Nigerian Army in June 2015 as Director General, Ministry of Defence Health Implementation Program (MODHIP) and he is currently the Chief of Medicine at the Defence Medical Center, Mogadishu Barrack, Abuja. He has an NGO known as Life Ajemba Foundation which is dedicated to offering free medical outreach to the less privileged in the society.
Similarly, Gen. Life Ajemba has congratulated the duo of Mr. Valentine Chineto Ozigbo and Dr. Chika Alexander Okafor on their simultaneous emergence as Anambra Man of the Year. He described them as people who exemplify the excellence Anambra people are known for, adding that Anambra people made the right choice in voting the duo and commended the organizers for this well thought out initiative which will serve as an inspiration to the younger Anambrarians who look up to these people as role model. Gen. Ajemba also congratulated other deserving nominees that will emerge winners through credible selective process and wished them well.
