The new Executive governor of Anambra state, Prof Chukwuma Soludo has urged IPOB to suspend the Monday sit at home because of its negative effect on ANAMBRA Economy.

In a short ceremony, the new governor inspected a guard of honour after his swearing-in and delivered his inaugural speech.

The new governor, in his speech questioned the rationale of the IPOB sit-at-home which has been injurious to the economy of the South East, disruptive to the education of school children in the South East and fatal to sick people who would be deprived medical help on the day of such sit-at-home.

He promised to champion a tripartite meeting between the Federal Government, IPOB and southeast leaders to resolve the problem, especially the trial of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
He further stated that Anambra looses an estimated 19 billion Naira to this sit at home and pledged to work his team to stop a situation where markets ,schools etc are closed every Monday to protest marginalization.
