The Commissioner for Youth Development and Creative Economy Hon. Patrick Aghadinuno Mba has disclosed Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s commitment and determination to create one thousand youth millionaires annually in Anambra state, ANAMBRA PEOPLE reports.

Mba who made the disclosure in an interview session said the Governor’s commitment to creating one thousand youth millionaires annually in Anambra is clearly captured in the 2022 revised budget where the Governor increased budgetary allocation for youth development from N500 million to N2.5 billion, stressing that Soludo was determined to take many youths out of the streets through rigorous systematic capacity building, training and mentorship.

The Youth Commissioner explained that the government has prioritized certain endeavours for youth development and empowerment. He said such areas include Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and a host of other skill acquisition programmes intended to take youths out of the streets and develop them to enable them to have better future as well as attain their full potentials.

The Commissioner stated that his ministry has commenced primary training with facilitators and youth desk officers to deliver quality youth oriented programmes in all the 21 local government areas of the state. Although he said government cannot shoulder the responsibility of the youth development programmes alone, he said the ministry is sourcing for partners to help realize the programmes.

Mba said, “Soludo is very serious in the business of youth development and we are on it. We are not relenting and it is not business as usual where people gather youths in one hall in the name of youth empowerment. No. We want to create a system that is sustainable and verifiable.
