The leadership of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) has disassociated itself from one of its pastors alleged to have detained, chained and held people hostage in the guise of conducting deliverance service on them in a building in Okija, Ihiala Local Council of Anambra State, ANAMBRA PEOPLE reports.

Debunking the report, which was attributed to the church on social media platforms, the church’s Director of Administration, Akin Olawale, in a statement, said that the church received the information with a rude shock, stressing that the practice was completely alien to MFM all over the world.

The statement reads in part: “Although the alleged pastor is one of our pastors, the said facility is a private property of the pastor and his activities of conducting such kind of deliverance is not with the knowledge or approval of the church leadership.

“In response to our question, the pastor claims that the parents/guardians of any respective candidates brought to him for prayers, especially those with mental ailment and drug addiction do sign an undertaking.

“The above notwithstanding, we have immediately directed the said pastor to shut down the illegal facility being used in the name of the ministry and to report to the Headquarters of the church for further actions.
