Anambra State Governor Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo on Tuesday, commended the Senator representing Anambra South and Candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) for the 2023 Anambra South Senatorial Election Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah for taking actions to support relevant authorities in protecting the lives and properties of the people of Anambra South regardless of their political affiliations, ANAMBRA PEOPLE reports. The governor made the remarks during the Anambra South Security Surveillance and Information Technology Summit. Speaking at the event which took place at Ifeanyi Ubah International Stadium, Nnewi-Ozubulu, Governor Soludo said that he was there to thank and congratulate Senator Ubah for making security of lives and properties of ndị Anambra South his priority irrespective of their political affiliations. The Anambra State Governor who was accompanied by his Chief of Staff Ernest Ezeajughi and Special Assistant on Security Air Vice Marchal Ben Chiobi also described Senator Ubah as a true son of the soil and reassured him that his office will continually partner with him for the benefits of residents of Anambra South and Anambrarians in general.
Governor Soludo further maintained that with the Secure South Project (SSP) which was initiated by Senator Ubah, security agencies will be more equipped to carry out surveillance and security analysis in all the one hundred and nineteen wards of Anambra South Senatorial District. Mr. Governor, who was overwhelmed with joy, further informed Senator Ubah that he is always ready to attend any programme facilitated by him that is meant to boost security in Anambra South and Anambra State in general. He also reassured ndị Anambra South that his office will continue to partner with Senator Ubah to ensure that the aims of the Secure South Project are achieved.
The Anambra State Governor also commended Senator Ubah for his patriotism, which made him place people’s interests above his own, and maintained that he is very proud to have him as his Senator. He also appreciated him for always making personal efforts to promote the wellbeing of his people and described the Ifeanyi Ubah International Stadium as a massive project that will be supported by the state government. The governor further assured Senator Ubah that his administration will partner with him to develop the stadium in a way that it will continually benefit ndị Anambra South and Anambrarians in general. Prof Soludo also promised to rehabilitate Nkwọ Nnewi Triangle and other Nnewi roads for the benefit of all and described Secure South Project as one of the fruits of the State’s Security Trust Fund.
Mr Governor further thanked Senator Ubah on behalf of ndị Anambra for his great gifts to the people of the state and reassured citizens that security of lives and properties which has improved since his assumption of office will continually improve.
Also speaking, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Security, Retired Air Vice Marchal Ben Chiobi informed the governor that in line with his directive, he has confirmed that the Secure South Project which the summit was part of is in tune with his promise to ndị Anambra on security. He also disclosed that about one thousand walkie-talkies with other powerful gadgets, including Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), have been procured by Senator Ubah. He also advised the governor to go ahead in his security partnership with the Senator.
In his remarks, the Director-General of Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation Chief Vin Onyeka appreciated the governor for believing in the Anambra South Senator. Chief Onyeka further appreciated ndị Anambra South for their continuous support for the Senator and reassured them that he will not relent in partnering with relevant authorities to attract quality projects to the Senatorial District and promote their wellbeing.
Responding, Senator Ubah commended governor Soludo for working closely with public office holders in the state regardless of their party affiliations. The Senator also disclosed that the event was in line with his determination to partner with the state government in areas of security and development, and maintained that with the partnership, insecurity in the state will soon be a thing of the past.
The Anambra South Senator who was flanked by his wife Mrs Uche Ubah further disclosed that the event was planned to create quality partnerships among all stakeholders irrespective of their political affiliations in order to enable various communities to speak with one voice on curbing insecurity in the Senatorial District. He also maintained that about six thousand units of solar powered facilities, which were procured by his office, will be installed in all the Wards of the Senatorial District to assist security agencies in surveillance and security analysis. Senator Ubah further urged constituents, especially those residing outside the country, to avoid dissemination of fake news and join hands in giving the governor adequate support to fight insecurity in the state.
The YPP Candidate for 2023 Anambra South Senatorial Election further appreciated the state governor and his constituents for believing in him, and reassured them that his office will leave no stone unturned in partnering with relevant authorities to promote their wellbeing.
