Gov. Soludo & Rev. Fr. Ebube Muonso

The spiritual director of the Holy Ghosy Adoration Ministry Uke, Fr Emmanuel Obimma (Ebube Muonso) has apologised for his outburst during the new year midnight mass, ANAMBRA PEOPLE reports. During the mass to usher in the year 2023, Fr Obimma while urging the faithful to participate actively in the process leading to the 2023 elections made some statements considered injurious to the personal dignity and good names of some persons in the State.

The apology was in response to the instruction of the Archbishop, His Grace Most Rev. Valerian M. Okeke who frowned at the action especially as it was done during the Eucharistic celebration. The metropolitan of Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province considered the action as one that disrespects liturgical decorum. While priests as Prophets are demanded by their calling to denounce evil and injustice perpetrated by persons or institutions, the Archbishop reiterated that no person is allowed to abuse the dignity of the sacred mystery of the Eucharistic celebration or use the pulpit in a manner that is against charity.

Fr. Ebube Muonso during the Eucharistic celebration in his parish, Blessed iwene Tansi parish Umuodika, on Sunday 29th January, 2023, expressed remorse and apologised for his action and requested all who were hurt by his pronouncements to forgive. On a personal note, he promised to avoid such an infraction of priestly code of conduct and assured the Archbishop and the Church of his total Obedience and absolute loyalty.
