The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo CFR, visited Awka Millennium City and Golf Residency Awka, two Estates that fit with the Governor’s master plan for contemporary housing appropriate for the twenty-first century, ANAMBRA PEOPLE reports.
The Awka Millennium City is partnered with ANSIPPA, the Contractor is Sagez Nigeria Ltd while M-P Infrastructure is the developer.
The Millennium City has 750 residential homes, a beautiful designed entrance with standard walkways, business districts, the installation of an independent power plant that will produce constant power supply, efficient water supply, fiber optics, and the presence of an ideal leisure, entertainment, and hospitality hub where residents can relax and enjoy.
The Governor acknowledged that there have been notable changes since he last visited the Millennium City two years ago.
He commended Dr. Clem Nwogbo and his team for taking on the significant project, stressing that it served as an example of what a modern estate ought to be.
Soludo urged other estate developers in the state to join the already-in-progress modern housing revolution, noting that there are minimum standards that must be upheld.
He stated that the Awka Millennium City is a case study that his administration wants to mainstream as a model for modern housing to other estate developers.
“For our people who are spread out across the globe, if you don’t own a home here, you are missing out! The price goes up as you wait longer,” he said.
Soludo added, “For me, I will love to come here to build a home where I would like to live and enjoy.”
The Governor revealed that the civil servant estate has already been approved and that there is 500 square meters of land available for middle class earners in the estate.
He also mentioned that a mass housing scheme for low-income earners is currently in place to address the shortage of high-quality, well-planned housing in the state.
Additionally, the Governor visited Golf Residency Awka and construction of the estate has already begun. Soludo was shown the master plan of the estate, and what he saw left him feeling impressed.
It can be recalled that Soludo stated that Anambra has a road crises and in his resolve to solve the problem, Awka-Ufuma Road is amongst the roads Soludo is constructing.
Coincidentally, the Golf Residency Awka is situated along Awka-Ufuma Road.
In a vote of thanks, the Commissioner for Lands, Prof. Offornze Amucheazi, applauded the Governor for taking time out of his busy schedule to visit both Estates. He stated that Anambra is already beginning to take the shape that Soludo had envisioned about, to become a prosperous and livable homeland.
