Osnon Academy,a free secondary school for indigent students, will be flagged off in September this year, ANAMBRA PEOPLE reports.

A member of the governing board of Chude and Ego Foundation, Professor Maris Umego disclosed this when a team from the school paid a courtesy call to the Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Profesor Ngozi Chumah-Udeh, at her office in Awka.
Professor Umego who said that they came to intimate the Commissioner about the school and seek her support, disclosed that Osnon Academy is one of the projects being carried out by Chude and Ego Foundation for the service of humanity.
He further explained that the school is a completely free boarding secondary school for boys and girls who are from indigent families within Uga and environs and will take off in September this year with J.S.S one students.
Speaking on what Osnon Academy will do differently from other schools, the Principal, Mr. Arinze Uzuegbunam, explained that apart from being a free school being run by a foundation, it intends giving quality education to indigent students with concentration in rural areas.
He also mentioned how the school will operate and the entrance requirements and assured that they will build a stronghold and franchise that would make the school attractive to people.
Responding, the Commissioner for Education, Professor Chumah-Udeh, commended the foundation for the initiative and told the team that they can count on her for support.
She pointed out that the most important thing is to get the school registered, adding that the Director of Schools is available to give them the guidelines in that regards.

Osnon Academy is an initiative of the co-founder of VFD PLC,Mr Nonso Okpala,a native of Uga in Anambra State who wants to give back to the society.
