According to a source,Sir Edwin Umealo, a successful businessman, was found dead in Oba, which is located in the Idemili South Local Government Area LGA of Anambra state,after his killers suspected to be hired assassins abandoned his corpse in his car after reigning several rounds of bullets on him from close range, ANAMBRA PEOPLE reports.

Umealo, who was a native of Umunze, which is located in the Orumba South Local Government Area LGA of the state, actually went for a brief meeting in one of the local settlements in the state and was on his way back from the gathering when the gun-toting individuals followed his vehicle unnoticed and attacked him after double-crossing him.
Although,the motive behind the tragic occurrence is yet to be ascertained, but on Thursday, information about the sad occurrence was leaked to the media by a close family member of the deceased who did not want his identity to be publicized due to the delicate state of the situation.
When contacted,the anonymous family source claimed that the deceased businessman, who was widely known as “Sir White” by his friends and colleagues in the business world, was gunned down on his way home to his residence in Asaba,the capital of Delta state, at seven o’clock on Sunday evening,14th May 2023 after the meeting he attended.
The source went on to say that,after killing him in cold blood, his attackers reportedly made sure he was dead before abandoning his corpse in the pool of his blood inside his SUV vehicle, without dispossessing of any of his valuables.
“His car, handsets, cash and other valuables that were with him were left intact when the Police came and took his corpse to the mortuary. Family sources believe he must have been trailed from where he attended the meeting,” the source added.
In the meantime,late Umealo, a businesman who operates in Ogboefere Market in Onitsha, is a family man with four kids.
Hence,as of the time this heartbreaking occurrence published to the general public, which was around 8:24 p.m on Thursday,18th May 2023, the correspondent for the Anambra State police,the Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, is yet to give a feedback to all calls and text messages sent to his official line by local news reporters for verification of the attack.
