The Anambra APC Media Frontiers (AMF) joins Ndi Anambra to celebrate our iconic state’s 32nd anniversary. Anambra has made commendable progress, and we are proud of the state’s many achievements. The state has been a major contributor to Nigeria’s growth and development for years, producing successful people in many areas such as politics, business, academics, literature, sports, and entertainment.
However, we are concerned that the nation is deprived of benefiting from the excellent human resources that Anambra has in abundance due to the limited reach, exposure, and connection of the APGA government in the state.
We equally note that our dear state faces several persistent challenges, including:
- Poor infrastructure
- Inadequate power supply
- A worsening security situation
- Corruption
- Poor governance
Despite these challenges, Anambra is a state of progress and promise The AMF proudly acknowledges the significant progress that the 32-year-old state has made in several areas, including education, health, and infrastructure.
Anambra State has seen a rise in literacy from 60% to 80%, an increase in schools from 2,000 to 5,000, and a reduction in infant and maternal mortality rates. The state has witnessed phases of investment in infrastructure such as roads, bridges, an airport, a stadium, and a conference center, yet much of the existing infrastructure needs repair or replacement. As home to successful industries, the economy is growing steadily albeit slowly. However, small businesses have yet to be fully supported and its potential is ÷harnessed to improve the living standards of their residents.
Meanwhile, the AMF decries the worsening security situation in the state. The state has been plagued by a wave of violence, criminality, kidnappings, and territorial occupation by non-state actors. This has created a climate of fear and insecurity, and it is hindering the state’s development.
The AMF also expresses cautious optimism that the current administration of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo will ensure that local government elections are held within the two years of his administration that he promised.
The 32nd anniversary of Anambra State presents to all Ndi Anambra a time to celebrate the progress that has been made and to reflect on the challenges that remain.
The state needs to address these challenges to achieve its full potential. The APC through the #RenewedHope Agenda offers a sure alternative to correct the malaise of bad governance, kleptocracy, and suffocation of grassroots democracy by the APGA government for almost two decades of its reign in the state
Finally, on this 32nd anniversary, we celebrate our culture, our industry, our innovations, our achievements, and most especially self-love that characterizes the spirit of Ndi Anambra.
We, at AMF are proudly Ndi Anambra. We believe that the state has a bright future, and we have an abiding faith in our resilience and confidence that we can overcome the challenges that we face.
Happy 32nd anniversary, Anambra State.
Together, we can make Anambra a state of progress and prosperity for all.
May Anambra succeed.
