The Anambra state Election Petition Tribunal has just nullified the election of the APGA House of Reps member in Nnewi north/Nnewi south/Ekwusigo federal constituency, Hon Uchenna Eledimmuo.
The tribunal while delivering judgement nullified 8 polling units in Nnewi north LGA for over voting.The Tribunal went ahead to withdraw the certificate of return issued to Hon Eleodimmuo and ordered INEC to conduct a bye election in the affected polling units within 90 days.
According AIF Media, the 3 man panel deducted the results of the cancelled 8 polling units from the total number of votes garnered by the APGA candidate and he is leading the YPP candidate, Hon Uzokwe Peter with only 29 votes. With this judgement, Hon Eleodimmuo is expected to vacate his seat at the house of Reps with immediate effect pending the conduct of the bye election at the 8 polling units in the next 90 days.
