In a bold move to transform Upper Iweka into a shining beacon of progress, Governor Chukwuma Soludo has announced an ambitious plan to rejuvenate the area. During a recent visit to the location, Governor Soludo left no room for ambiguity as he read the riot act to touts and criminals plaguing the area.

The Governor assured the public of a comprehensive reconstruction project that will not only revamp Upper Iweka but also restore its reputation as a thriving hub. “Upper Iweka will soon become a sight to behold,” declared Governor Soludo with unwavering determination.

One of the pivotal announcements made during the visit was a stern warning to those without legitimate business in Upper Iweka. Governor Soludo stated unequivocally that they should vacate the area immediately, as the government is committed to cleaning it up. Additionally, the Governor issued a stern directive, threatening to shut down motor parks that fail to adhere to established rules.

Key among these rules is the mandatory installation of gates at motor parks within Upper Iweka. This measure aims to ensure that all vehicles load within their designated premises, thereby clearing pedestrian pathways for public use. Governor Soludo emphasized that this transformation will include the installation of street lights, security cameras, and other essential facilities.

Moreover, the Governor called on street traders to relocate to designated areas such as Ọdụ Ụgbọ and another location in Ogbaru. This move is part of the broader effort to decongest Upper Iweka and restore order.

To combat the persistent issues of touting and pickpocketing, Governor Soludo revealed that his administration is establishing a specialized task force. This force will be tasked with enforcing discipline and maintaining security in Upper Iweka.
