Dr Ezenagu has been appointed as the senior research Fellow at Strathmore University Business School and the director of the newly formed African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) Policy and Development Centre at the Institution.
In 2021, Ezenagu made waves in Kenya when he married President Ruto’s firstborn daughter June.
In a statement Strathmore said; “At Strathmore University Business School, Dr. Ezenagu will lead the AfCFTA Policy Centre in its mission to become a premier institution dedicated to advancing research, knowledge dissemination, and capacity building in trade, policy, and investment.
“His exceptional background in international corporate taxation, competition law, and corporate finance will play a pivotal role in guiding the Centre’s initiatives,”.
Ezenagu was lauded by Strathmore as a brilliant scholar and expert in international law, trade, investment, and taxation.
An excited Ezenagu said; “I am thrilled to join Strathmore University and lead the AfCFTA Policy Centre in its mission to promote economic integration in Africa.
‘‘The AfCFTA represents a historic opportunity for the continent, and I am committed to leveraging our expertise to support its successful implementation,”.
Dr. Alexander Ezenagu who hails from Nimo in Anambra State is the Founder and Chief Consultant of Sapient Consulting Group, a full-service professional firm, with offices in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, amongst others.
He holds a PhD in Civil Law from McGill University, Canada, and is a Professor of law with a career spanning over 13 years across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.
He was, until recently, a Professor of Law at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), and a member of Qatar Foundation, Qatar.
Dr. Ezenagu is a prolific author and has several articles published in high-impact journals.
