Anambra state is witnessing an internal power struggle that could jeopardize Governor Charles Soludo’s quest for a second term, just over two years before the gubernatorial election.

According to a recent reports, this disputes stem from conflicts within the Soludo Support Group (SSG), a key campaign group that played a pivotal role in securing the governor’s victory in the last election.

The root of the issue appears to be a fierce confrontation between the group’s founder, Chinedu Nwoye, who also serves as the Deputy Chief Of Staff and Chief of Protocol to Governor Soludo, and three prominent members of the SSG. Allegedly, these three members are plotting against Soludo’s second-term ambitions.

In a statement to reporters, Nwoye claimed that these members are determined to undermine Governor Soludo because they believe he failed to offer them political appointments or contracts as a form of “settlement.”

The three individuals in question are Chidi Okoye Ogazi, Charles Ebulue, and Arinzechukwu Awogu. According to Nwoye, these three have initiated a feud with the governor due to their perceived lack of political appointments and other benefits.

Nwoye cited an incident involving Charles Ebulue, who openly opposed the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) during the House of Assembly and Federal House of Representatives Elections in the state, attributing his actions to Soludo’s failure to grant him an appointment.

His words:

”This interview is to present the facts and also to save the vulnerable and people who that may be ignorant of the fact that Chidi Okoye Ogazi from Enugwu-Agidi, Charles Ebulue from Osumenyi and Arinzechukwu Awogu from Ogbaru are deceiving people that they are Soludo Support Group members.

“Yes. There were members, but having checked their activities in the past two years, I discovered that they are clandestinely working against Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo.”

Nwoye concluded by clarifying that these individuals are not genuine SSG members and should not be treated as such. Their actions indicate that they do not support Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo.
