Lagos- The Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos on Friday, 3rd Nov. 2023 affirmed the election of Hon. Engr Idu Emeka as duly elected member house of representative for Onitsha North/South Federal Constituency.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had, on Feb. 25, declared the Hon. Engr. Emeka Idu as the winner of the lower arm of the National Assembly election to represent the people of Onitsha North/South Federal Constituency.
Dissatisfied with the declaration, Miss Lynda Ikpeazu and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) challenged the election of Hon. Engr. Idu Emeka at the National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Awka.
The Anambra State National and State’s Election Petition Tribunal dismissed the two petitions from Miss Lynda Ikpeazu and PDP.
Not satisfied with the judgments of the tribunal, Miss Lynda Ikpeazu and PDP lodged appeals before the Court of Appeal in Lagos.
The Counsel to Hon. Idu Emeka and LP urged the court to dismiss the appeals for lack of merit.
