The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Dr Victor Umeh OFR was in Amurri, Nkanu West LGA of Enugu State where he joined the Labour Party Presidential Candidate for the 2023 General Election, HE Mr Peter Obi and other Stakeholders of the Party in paying last respect to the deceased Candidate of Labour Party for the February 25th Senatorial Election in Enugu East Senatorial District, Chief Barr. Victor Oyibo Chukwu who was assassinated three days before the Election, 22nd February 2023 precisely.

It was also a moment of solidarity and consolation for the immediate family of Oyibo Chukwu particularly, his younger brother, Senator Kelvin Chukwu who replaced his deceased elder brother in the rescheduled Election and now represents the people of Enugu East Senatorial District in the 10th Senate.

In his condolence message to the bereaved family, Senator Victor Umeh pointed out that though his life was cut short at a point he was to enter into a more important assignment in the service of his people and the society at large, Barr. Oyibo Chukwu had lived a successful life and made indelible impacts before handing over the mantle to his younger brother, Senator Kelvin Chukwu to continue with his legacies and to ensure his family does not suffer.
