We never had issues of who will have custody of the children says Deceased Maiden family
The social media was recently awashed with a news reports of an incident in Ogbunka during the burial of one Nkechi Onwurah (Nee Aniukwu) an Nnobi Lady, married to an Ogbunka man, Mr. Abuchi Onwurah.
The story flying on the social media has been debunked by the deceased brother and from investigation discover that there were more to the concocted story that was filled with lies from the pit of hell as either ignorantly narrated or mischievously presented by a social media blogger concerning the nasty incident that took place at Ogbunka community, Orumba South LGA,Anambra State during the burial of Late Mrs Nkechi Onwurah on March 22, 2024. The report of the blogger were bundle of lies and contradictions that can only come from an agent of the devil.
According to Ndubisi Aniukwu from Nnobi, Idemili South LGA, Anambra State, the brother of the deceased, Late Mrs Nkechi Onwurah, their family is heart broken and full of regrets that their late sister married a gold digger and jobless man who deceived her and came into her life to take over and start controlling her wealth only to discover and become frustrated when he realized that the business capital actually never belonged to his wife but rather that she was only running a family business set up for the upkeep of their aged parents.
According to Ndubuisi, the family is still trying to swallow the bitter pills and reality of losing a dear sister who never enjoyed marriage with her husband from 2016 when they got married till her death except the fact that he was able to impregnate her with two boys and a girl who she fended for solely with the support of their aged parents. Precisely, the childrens feeding, clothing and school fees and hospital bills anytime the children fell sick from their birth till now were handled by either the late Nkechi or her aged parents.
According to Ndubuisi, “My late sister and her husband had always lived apart because since the man had no meaningful job my sister told him to join her in the the businesses she was managing for our parents at Afor Nnobi market so that they could feed and maximize profit he bluntly refused.
“My sister also advised him that they should get a house nearby because she couldn’t be coming to Afor Nnobi market from Ogbunka everyday since it was the only means of their sustenance but he equally refused to live with her but chose to be visiting her at Awka-etiti where she got an apartment paid for by herself at the boundary of Nnobi near our Nnobi family house.
“The proximity made it possible for our father to be helping her out in school runs for the two older children who are six and three years before the delivery of the last child from which birth complications resulted to her death on January 7,2024.
“Few days before the burial of our sister, her husband and mother inlaw said they were coming to take the children to join and live with their father at Ogbunka which we obliged not minding their tender age and the fact that all through their lives, they never lived with their father. On getting to Nnobi, the duo met the two children terribly sick so they had no option but to go back to Ogbunka since they were still undergoing treatment in the custody of their maternal grandparents. The man Abuchi does not care about his children and is ignorant of their state of well-being at anytime.
“On Thursday the day before the burial of my late sister, her husband came to pick his two older children that are 3 and 6 year for the burial slated for the next day and told the immediate Younger sister to the deceased not to put more than two spare clothes each for the boys and said he wanted the boys to come back to Nnobi to stay with their grandparents immediately after their mum’s burial till further notice. He even requested to go with the house help that stays with the children when my sister was alive to keep the children company for the two days which we consented to before they all left that Thursday morning (March 21, 2024).
“This is a confirmation that my family never dragged or had contention on who will have custody of those children.
‘We never knew that our in-laws had another game plan or had set a trap without our knowledge.
It was at the night of the wake keep and the morning of the burial that we noticed that some people at Ogbunka were nursing some bad feelings about us by the way they were pointing at us, to the extent that someone pointed at our mother right there at the Mortuary that she was the one who did not allow their brother eat or squander his late wife’s wealth while she was alive. At the burial, they were visibly saying that 10 persons from Nnobi must go down to teach them a lesson.
“My other sister acting on what she overheard them say told the children to go and put their bag in the vehicle so that after the burial, it will be easier for them to leave only for Abuchi, his father and his sisters to tear their bags into shreds and place the kids in a locked room under surveillance.
“Little had the casket been lowered and while the sandfilling of grave was ongoing that over 100 armed thugs armed to the teeth with dangerous weapons including broken bottles, cutlass, knives, clubs etc at the instance and pre arrangement of Abuchi’s family, descended on Nnobi entourage molesting, stabbing and beating up those that came to pay their last respect to my late sister. In fact it was a terrible experience, many of us escaped death by whiskers. Windscreens of cars were shattered by an army of thugs led by Chidi, who is Abuchi’s brother.
“So it was a very big lie that Nnobi people wanted to carry the children with an unknown vehicle against the wish of the father of the kids. Even before they started the fight the children had long been placed under room arrest by Abuchi as the Children had been in his custody since the morning of Thursday March 21, 2024. The thugs arranged by Ogbunka in-laws were already waiting to start a fight before we came for the burial even to the extent that the officiating priest had to tell them to come inside the compound during the funeral while they were making noise but they refused.
“The remote cause and the truth behind the ambush was that the frustrated jobless man, Abuchi Onwurah who came to reap where he did not sow, who was looking for her wife’s property to cart away or sell but could not because what he thought was her wife’s wealth was her maiden family’s business and property orchestrated a plan to maim his in-laws whose only crime was that they accepted to give out their daughter to a man without considering or putting affluence first.
“This is the true event. Go and fact check” he said.
Your reportage is one sided, you don’t take custody of someone children without the consent of the father the attitude, behavior and actions of the late Nkechi mother is very wrong .
Why on earth would she order a boy from Nneobi to get the grave sand at the night of the wake keep ? The bag in question was full of fetish items from the dead woman’s mother that the people of Ogbunka are shocked of the act and wondering if really their wife death was actually what they told them that happened.
Point of corrections Mr Abuchi is not my friend or brother but I can tell categorically clear that he is not a jobless man he is a professional welder with a shop and working equipment.
When a man refuses to stoop low to all this dubious ezenwanyi he became a gold digger.
You the writer though you might not really know much about the dead woman’s family just go and make inquiries of the family and the relationship they share with neighbors.
The side comment/s from people from Nnewi who came with them speaks a millions of evil against the late Nkechi’s mother.
The late Nkechi’s father was shouting that day “this is not we discussed oh”
So I blame Abuchi for marrying in a family where woman controls and determine all the affairs of the family without regards to the head of the family.
You the kpebe ekpere ka ajo nwanyi ghara okporo gi iru.
