There is an ongoing dispute regarding the cause of death of the late Nollywood actor who tragically drowned in Anam River yesterday. Some individuals are pointing fingers at the rescuers who took him to the mortuary and herbalist before bringing him to the hospital. They argue that if Junior Pope had been taken directly to the hospital, he might have survived.

However, others, particularly those who are knowledgeable about tradition, believe that actor TC Okafor, who was in the same boat as the late Junior Pope, may have angered the water by ringing a bell inside the boat. Villagers present at the scene of the incident claim TC Okafor was performing this action, which goes against their tradition of not ringing a bell near a river during their market day. This could possibly be the main reason for the boat capsizing.

In a related development, the people of Anam in Anambra West Local Government of State are determined to bury Nollywood actor Junior Pope Odonwodo beside the Anam River. According to the community, this burial is necessary for the well-being of his children and the community as a whole. They strongly believe that failing to do so will result in severe spiritual consequences and heavy repercussions.

However, the family of the deceased disagreed and has refused to surrender his body.

This platform gathered that the community tried to retrieve the body from the hospital, but the attending doctor denied access and secured the body in a private room.

Another group of individuals suggests that the family should take the body to a specific shrine before 2 a.m., where a certain herbalist in charge of the river will supposedly revive him. It has been brought to our attention that the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Mr. Ejezie Emeka Rollas, and some Nollywood actors are allegedly present, advocating for the body of Junior Pope to be taken to the shrine.
