Former Anambra Governorship Aspirant and member of the People’s Democratic Party’s Board of Trustees, Chief Ugochukwu Okeke, was on Friday ,10th May, 2024, honored with a chieftaincy title in Oruigwe autonomous Community, Nnono,Oboro ,Ikwuano LGA of Abia State.
He was bestowed the chieftaincy title of Enyioha(Friend of All) of Oruigwe Community by the traditional ruler ,HRH.Eze Chukwuemeka Elefuanya Ezeoma (Igwebuike 11 of Oruigwe Community.
Part of nomination letter for the conferment of Chieftaincy title signed by the President-General of the community read:
“Having satisfied the requisite nomination criteria and screening, the award screening committee has approved that you be conferred with a Chieftaincy title of Enyioha 1 of Oruigwe”
The letter went further to say that ” the conferment is based on your sterling performance and exceptional contributions towards building a peaceful and prosperous Oruigwe Community .
Expressing his gratitude for the Chieftaincy title Chief Ugochukwu Okeke who spoke to newsmen after the event said:
“I’m obviously elated. Filled with gratitude to Almighty GOD for His mercies and blessings. My wife, children and entire family and friends are full of joy and grateful toHRH. Eze Chukwuemeka Ezeoma( Igwebuike 2 of Oruigwe Ancient kingdom and his cabinet for the honor.
It’s also a call to duty to do more in truly being Enyioha 1 after being Enyioha of Umuezealama kingdom in Mbano.
I will always do my best in the discharge of these responsibilities with GODs special grace upon me and mine.
Continuing, he said “We shall deploy the best in and around me to support the Eze, Igwebuike 2 in bringing further development to Oruigwe ancient kingdom and its environs”.
The ceremony, attended by friends and community members, was a celebration of Chief Okeke’s contributions to societal development and unity
The chieftaincy title of “Enyioha” holds significant cultural importance in Igbo tradition, symbolizing a person who embodies the values of friendship, peace, and harmony. Chief Okeke’s new title reflects his commitment to fostering relationships and building bridges across communities
Chief Ugochukwu Okeke (Enyioha) is a business man in Abuja. He is from Ihiala Town in Anambra State. Enyioha is a credible name in Anambra Politics where he has vied for positions. A founding member of the PDP ,Chief Okeke has continued to pitch tent with the party since 1999 and has served the party in many positions including the most recent appointment as a member of PDP Board of Trustees.
