Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese Rt Rev Samuel Ezeofor has described Christian fathers as pastors of their various families with crucial role of bringing needed change and transformation in the society.
Speaking on the significance of the international Father’s day which is celebrated in third Sunday in June, the cleric regretted high rate of rascality amongst some Christian fathers, cautioning against acts capable of debasing fatherhood.
He traced the origin of the international fathers day, just as he challenged Christian fathers on living lives capable of winning more souls for Christ.
He reminded Christian fathers of their enormous responsibilities in both their various families, the church and Larger society, urging them to always make their impact felt any where they find themselves.
Ezeofor who doubles as National chairman of the Evangelical fellowship in the Anglican Communion (EFAC) Nigeria, charged Christian fathers to always invest in the education of their children to secure a bright future for them.
While regretting high rate of idolatry among the youths who are the future leaders of both the church and larger society, the Prelate tasked Christian fathers and Ministers of God on synergizing towards directing the youths to the path of morality.
He further called on government at different levels to create special programme that would take care of the elderly and aged, warning against maltreatment of the elders in the society.
