GRAMMAR HAS INDEED TAKEN OVER FROM SERVICE DELIVERY IN ANAMBRA STATE
My own Anambra is now being asked to celebrate the Vice Chairmanship of a moribund South Governor’s forum that confers zero advantage on our state with beautiful prose and grammar, including congratulatory messages as a dividend of governance.
I have taken my time to painstakingly search through Ogun State media space for similar media stunts from the Ogun State Governor’s media team and as expected, saw none.
Ogun state governor who got elected chairman of the South Governor’s Forum didn’t see any advantage worthy of gallivanting all over the social media space like ours down here are presently fooling themselves with.
Back home in our Anambra State, it is GRAMMAR over service delivery and PROPAGANDA over real-time solutions to the needs of the masses.
Here, we are faced with the terrible reality of acute hardship and leadership vacuum-induced mind-boggling insecurity.
The media team of the solutionless Soludo government, led by Edo state-born Christian Aburime, is asking Ndi Anambra to join them in celebrating the Governor’s emergence as Vice Chairman of the South Governors’ forum while blissfully acting unaware of the several challenges that are facing the residents of the state.
Challenges that range from acute hardship with the ease of doing business in Anambra amid nerve-wrecking insecurity coupled with rumoured members of the unknown gunmen masquerading as government-certified thugs, wielding assorted weapons (cudgels, Monday hammers, guns etc.), and extorting all manner of taxes from citizens.
Aburime and Co. want Ndi Anambra to celebrate Professor Soludo’s emergence as Vice Chairman of the South Governors’ forum and we ask them, “Of what advantage has such moribund association conferment as second fiddle, been to the states that have produced the Vice chairmen in the past, even the Chairmen?”
When will these charlatans hired by a professor start showcasing real-time developmental strides and indices in line with the Dubai-Taiwan state that was promised to us during the elections in 2021?
Apart from a few kilometres of road with a few month’s lifespan, and hiring teachers, what has the Dubai-Taiwan Professor done differently from his predecessors given his loquacious boasts during the last campaign to warrant applause or mention of a second term?
What can properly define cluelessness more than a situation whereby part of a market is burning in Nnobi with no emergency response from the ill equipped state fire service and ARTMA,agents of the state government are also busy simultaneously carting away the wares and petty goods that constitute the means of livelihood of hapless market women whose only crime is that they are struggling to survive and pull their families through the present harsh economic situation in the state?
To add insult to injury, the wife of the governor goes about telling these hungry women whose means of livelihood got carted away by their agents ,how she and the few others who are in control of the government are eating different varieties of healthy diets and exercising their bodies in clear exhibition of the level of disconnect that the people in government have from the very hungry masses.
Pray, who tells a hungry fellow how to select diets when all they yearn for is anything food to survive? Yet the state government won’t let them do their petty businesses in peace.
A visit to the state government-owned general hospital in Amaku will shock you to the bone marrow with its state of dilapidation and shabby administration.
The governor has just selected another set of O-yes boys and girls as transition committee chairmen in order to continue the corrupt circus involved in local government funds rather than conduct a local government election as he promised.
It has become crystal clear to Ndi Anambra that the professor was overrated.
But then, come to think of it, after his one tenure stunt as CBN Governor, (thanks to Senator Andy Uba that made it happen), what other role has he played again before emerging Governor by riding on his predecessor’s back? A back that he is today fighting tooth and nail to consign to prison using the EFCC.
Buhari’s economic adviser?
Where he had a shameful outing and advised the nation into the mess that the present renewed hope administration at the centre is fighting to resolve.
A former CBN Governor who got zero interest or job offers from international organisations as was the case with the likes of Mrs Okonjo Iweala (remember the brilliant iron lady that described our governor as the Professor Without Character), Mr Femi Adeshina, etc.
Our own supposedly erudite professor got so ignored by international organisations after his stint as CBN Governor that he had to sojourn to Congo to invest his money in the mining business. In clear exhibition of his absolute lack of faith in Anambra and Nigeria.
Are you still surprised that in Anambra today under the professor’s watch, businesses are moving away from Anambra in their droves as a result of insecurity and our industrious people are presently furiously developing neighboring Asaba, Delta state. The Governor’s clueless media are unconcerned and are rather celebrating his emergence as Vice…Vice Chairman of the south governors’ forum.
And we ask again…
Is Anambra cursed or are we the cause?
