A newly employed teacher in Anambra State has written an emotional letter to the state governor, Prof Charles Soludo, lamenting the poor salary and working conditions offered by the state government.

The teacher, who withheld her name, expressed disappointment and frustration with the N33,122.65 monthly salary and a two-year probation period with no possibility of transfer for 10 years.

The letter highlighted the struggles of teachers in the state, questioning the hope for their future and the value placed on their profession.

The teacher also raised concerns about a potential scam, alleging that someone in government may have been collecting salaries on behalf of new recruits since October 2023.

The heartfelt letter has sparked outrage and calls for improved working conditions and fair compensation for teachers in Anambra State.

Governor Soludo’s office has yet to respond to the teacher’s concerns, but the issue has sparked a wider conversation about the value and support given to educators in Nigeria.
