The crisis within the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has taken a dramatic turn.
The Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) has denied recognition to the Chief Edozie Njoku-led faction.
Despite official notifications, Njoku’s representatives were forcibly prevented from entering a meeting at the ANSIEC Secretariat in Awka, Anambra State.
The factional National Working Committee (NWC) of APGA, led by Okoro Benedict, condemned the incident during a visit to Anambra State.
He said, “We are deeply concerned about the alleged involvement of Governor Soludo in this harassment and appeal for peace,” Okoro stated.
He said,”The Court of Appeal’s recognition of Chief Njoku as APGA National Chairman should be respected, and we urge Governor Soludo and his allies to join us in ending this crisis.”
He called on supporters to engage with communities, wards, and local government areas to promote the party’s ideals.
In a reconciliatory tone, they acknowledged Governor Soludo’s emergence through APGA and sought a peaceful resolution.
This incident has sparked concerns about the escalating crisis within APGA and its implications for the party’s future.
