E-governance: We’ll support you navigate complexities of implementation – Anambra lawmakers assure ICT Agency

Chairman and Members of Anambra State House Committee on Information has reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the Anambra State ICT Agency’s initiatives and navigating the complexities of implementing e-governance solutions.

The lawmakers gave the assurance during a familiarization visit to the Agency’s MD, Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata (CFA), led by the Committee Chairman, Hon. Fred Ezenwa (Onitsha South 1) with Hon. Jude Akpua (Njikoka 2), Hon. Justice Azuka (Onitsha North 1), and Hon. Patrick Udoba (Anambra West).

Speaking during the meeting, committee Chairman, Hon. Ezenwa emphasized the importance of legislative backing in achieving the agency’s goals.

He said the visit underscored the critical collaboration between the legislative and executive arms in driving technological progress and ensuring effective governance in the state.

“We met with the ICT Agency’s leadership to gain a comprehensive understanding of the agency’s operations, discuss the challenges it faces, and explore ways to address these challenges within the framework of the law.

“During the meeting, the Committee members reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the agency’s initiatives and navigating the complexities of implementing e-governance solutions. They emphasized the importance of legislative backing in achieving the agency’s goals,” he added.

Ressponding, CFA highlighted the agency’s efforts in driving e-governance across Anambra State, noting its pioneering role in the digital transformation of the state’s civil service.

He discussed the agency’s collaborations with various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to enhance service delivery through technology.

“This visit marks a significant step in fostering the cooperation needed to drive the state’s digital agenda

“The visit reinforced the importance of aligning the agency’s objectives with legislative support to effectively fulfill its mandate.

“It also served as a testament to the collaborative spirit necessary for achieving good governance and technological advancement in Anambra State,” he stated.

Expressing gratitude for the Committee’s engagement, CFA highlighted significance of its support in the agency’s quest for a more efficient and digitally advanced future for the state, just as he looked forward to continued collaboration as the agency strives to overcome challenges and achieve its objectives.
