The crisis in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has taken a new turn as the founding national chairman, Chekwas Okorie, has called on the party’s National Working Committee to discipline Governor Chukwuma Soludo for alleged anti-party activities.

Okorie, who is also the factional chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees, made this call at a press conference .

Okorie accused Soludo of trying to destroy the party and ignoring the leadership of Chief Edozie Njoku, the recognized national chairman.

He emphasized that APGA is a spiritual entity that will outlive everyone, including Soludo.

“The party’s disciplinary machinery must be activated without delay to sanction all those who may be found guilty of anti-party activities and whose actions and utterances have brought the party to public ridicule and shame,” Okorie said.

However, Soludo’s spokespersons, Paul Nwosu and Christian Aburime, dismissed Okorie’s claims, stating that he is not a member of APGA and cannot sanction the party’s leader.

They maintained that Soludo remains the leader of APGA and Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa is the national chairman.

The Anambra State government described Okorie’s actions as absurd, comparing him to someone in a sinking ship looking for something to hold onto.

They recalled Soludo’s promise to resolve the APGA crisis during the 33rd anniversary celebration of Anambra State’s creation.

The crisis in APGA has been brewing for weeks, with different factions of the party struggling for control.

The situation has become increasingly tense, with accusations and counter-accusations flying between the different parties.

Okorie’s call for Soludo’s sanction has added fuel to the fire, with many party members waiting to see how the situation will unfold.
