Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Anambra State Command has urged members of the Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALPSPN) to rigorously comply with the regulatory guidelines governing their operations.

The State Commandant, Maku Olatunde gave this charge in Awka, at a one-day workshop and last quarter of the year summit organized by the NSCDC Anambra State Command’s Private Guard Company (PGC) Department, which brought together private security outfits operating in Anambra State.

He emphasized the need for private security outfits to demonstrate expertise, hard work, ethical standards, and adaptability, given their pivotal role in ensuring the security and safety of their clients and the nation.

Earlier, Deputy Commandant Francis Nnadi, Head of the Private Guard Company (PGC) Department, stated that the primary objective of the summit was threefold: to evaluate the performance of private security outfits, update their knowledge and expertise, and equip them with essential skills to enhance their overall performance and effectiveness.

He expressed his appreciation for the private security guards’ commitment to their work and encouraged them to take a forward-thinking approach to license renewal, recommending that they begin the process at least three months before their current licenses expire.

Dr. Okon Antai, Chairman of the Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALPSPN), Anambra State Chapter, commended the NSCDC for its collaborative efforts in maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and effectiveness in the private security sector.

He praised the Corps’ diligent oversight and guidance, which has greatly contributed to the growth and development of private security practitioners in the state.
