Anambra State Government has revealed its plans to construct schools in communities that currently lack such facilities.

Commissioner for Education, Prof Ngozi Chuma-Udeh made the disclosure during a meeting with Post Primary Secondary School Commission (PPSSC) and Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) members to enhance synergy ahead of the 2024/2025 academic session.

The closed-door meeting, held at Conference Hall of the Ministry of Education, State Secretariat Complex was aimed at aligning all educational sectors with the current administration’s goals and vision for the upcoming school year.

The commissioner called on communities without schools to submit a survey plan of the land allocated for the project, along with the necessary signatories, to her Ministry.

She emphasized the importance of collaboration across all sectors of the state’s education system to ensure effective service delivery.

She highlighted the divine nature of the call to service, urging all parties to give their best efforts during their tenure.

While reiterating the state’s policy of providing free education from Nursery to Junior Secondary School, the commissioner warned that any head teachers or principals who failed to comply would face consequences.

Chairman of PPSSC, Prof. Nkechi Ikedingwu and her ASUBEB counterpart, Dr. Vera Nwadinobi expressed their commitment to working closely with the State Ministry of Education.

They affirmed their readiness to implement the Soludo-led administration’s vision for education of ensuring that every student in Anambra has access to quality education.
