An Anglican priest, Ven. David Arinze Ajaefobi has been kidnapped by hoodlums in Awkuzu, Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The victim, Archdeacon of Oyi Central Archdeaconry and Vicar of St. James’ Parish, Awkuzu was abducted around 9:00 pm on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the entrance gate of the church.

No contact has been established with the abductors as at the time of filing this report, sources said, but the church has begun prayer sessions for the victim’s safe release.

Police spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga, when contacted said the state Command had not received a report of the incident.
