He said, “You must have heard of the recent manhandling of one of our clients by one of our paid contractors. We called for this Board meeting to brainstorm over the matter and taken actions.

“On November 18, the state government suspended the contractor and rectified by the Board to be followed by subsequent actions after on-going police investigations.

“The Governor Chukwuma Soludo-led administration has zero tolerance for human rights abuse and has sworn to protect every citizen of the state.

“We won’t tolerate such actions under this government. We’ll do everything within our powers to ensure such incident doesn’t repeat itself.

“The MD and Commissioner for Health were at the Enugu hospital on Monday to see the victim and to empathize with him because his condition is not so good.

“We are trying as much as we can to ensure that the family doesn’t suffer further stress as a result of this incident.”
