It was jubilation galore by traders at Onitsha Main market Anambra State over installation of Free Wifi data by Governor Chukwuma Soludo and market chairman, Hon. Innocent Ezeoha
The traders commended the governor and chairman, saying the Free Wifi data installation would assist them in transacting business in the market since network issue has become their greatest problem.
Expressing satisfaction, the market chairman, Ezeoha, (a.k.a.Ezennia) the installation was hindered earlier by enemies of the market since 2023 when it was to be installed.
He said the governor, out of his magnanimity and love for the traders, especially those at Onitsha Main market, ordered him to ensure that the equipment was installed within one month despite opposition and propaganda against him (Ezeoha) by the enemies of progress in the market.
“This is a Federal Government project for the six political zones in the country and Zenox film is in charge of the installation and our amiable Governor brought that of Anambra and through my consistent plea earlier and now to him that we have been having serious network problem, the governor finally ordered me to ensure the installation within one month for commissioning.
“As I talk to you now we are almost done with the installation. We have finished installation in two out of the three zones of Onitsha Main market. We have three zones, one, two and three and it is only zone two that remains to be connected and the governor will Commission the project on completion.
“The enemies of the market who try to tarnish my image despite my good work, have repented and now commend my efforts having seen this free Wifi data installed to curtail their cost of data and network problem. I told governor that the biggest market in West Africa has no network for business transaction and he did it for us based on my persistent plea to assist us.
“It would have been installed in another place but the governor being a listening type find it necessary to make the traders happy and ordered me to ensure the installation within one month for immediate commissioning. We are on test run now and we are getting prepared. The enemies even accused me of being given #20 million by the governor.
“Once you are at Onitsha Main market, off your data, and connect to free Wifi data, for your business transaction. It is free of charge no data payment and you are free to browse, no network problem.
“Also I have commenced installation of solar lights in the markets. The entire lines and other places are being installed with solar lights to assist in curtailing crime wave even if CCTV camera has its own duty,” he further explained.
Commending the governor and market chairman, Ezeoha, the line chairmen and others prayed God for good things to continue to come to the market adding that the leadership of Soludo and Ezeoha are divine.
According to Chukwudi Ezekwuba, chairman Niger line in zone two, “I am happy with Ezeoha and go ernor because one who does not know the worth of the installation of Free Wifi data may not know the benefits.
“With is installation no more complaints of data and network because it has been solved and Ezeoha may you live long. To the governor you we know for your second tenure,” he stated.
Also another line chairman, Mr. Eugene Azu, thanked Ezeoha for ensuring the installation by convincing the governor on the need for it to be at main market.
“This shows you are a good leader who is interested in the welfare of traders and not what opposition will say because any leader must have opposition who eye that seat,” he disclosed.
Others who reacted positivelyin favour of Ezeoha included, Chukwudi Obidiwe and Chike Okeke, market chieftains who described the installation as the best thing that has happened to the market since inception and paid glowing tribute to the governor and Ezeoha, urging them not to relent in taking the traders to the next level.
