Frontline aspirant for the forthcoming by-election in Anambra South Senatorial zone under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) platform, Chief Akai Egwuonwu has reassured the people of the zone of his preparedness to offer them quality representation and to complement efforts of the Governor to develop the zone if elected.

He said that his “Social Contract” with Ndị Anambra South remained intact and that he would make sure he attracted Federal Government attention to all the areas its attention is needed.

Egwuonwu explained that he has a burning desire to go to the Senate to change the narrative where people renege from their campaign promises after securing the mandate for quality representation.

He said, “I’m going to the Senate to make a difference. It’s not going to be business as usual. That’s why I come with this Social Contract. The essence is for the people to hold me by my word.

“Transparency, prudence, honesty, accountability and humility are my watch words and these attributes have helped me immensely in the business circle, social life and now in politics.

“My yes remains my yes and my nay is my nay any where any time. I believe being principled in life is the foundation for life success. That marks me out from the multitude.”

Egwuonwu had earlier joined the rest of the party faithful to welcome home the party’s National Chairman, Barr Sly Ezeokenwa.

Ezeokenwa and other party executive members were given a warm reception in Awka to further celebrate the party’s Supreme Court victory that has authenticated the leadership of Barr Ezeokenwa as the National Chairman of the APGA.

The event which attracted who is who in the party including the life patron of the party, Chief Egwuonwu was honoured by the Governor of the State, Professor Charles Soludo who was highly elated over the court victory and the progress the party has made under his watch.

While fielding questions from newsmen, Egwuonwu said the Supreme Court victory had underscored Governor Soludo’s political wisdom and administrative competence.

He noted that with this legal victory that APGA has become a party to beat and now more equipped to show its relevance in national politics.
