Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Achebe has pledged his support and encouragement to
Traditional Ruler of Obosi, Igwe Chidubem Iweka on his appointment as Chairman of Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council.
Igwe Achebe in his congratulatory message by Chief Osita Anionwu, his Chief of Staff expressed confidence in the success of his predecessor.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Jan 18, 2025 appointed Eze Iweka as Chairman of ASTRC to replace Igwe Achebe whose leadership was dissolved in January 2024.
Achebe however revealed that he was absent at the meeting where he was appointed following clash with an earlier scheduled event outside Anambra.
The message reads, “Your Majesty, Eze Iweka III, congratulations on your appointment today as Chairman of Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council.
“As Mr. Governor told me, your appointment was based on extensive consultation, which becomes your mandate to lead the TRC on a solid foundation .
“As your predecessor, I offer my full support and encouragement to you always in your capacity as chairman.
“I was unavoidably absent at today’s meeting due to a clash with a prior commitment in Lagos, of which Mr Governor was aware.
“I wish you very well, Agbogidi.”
