Soludo to corp members: promote indigenous products to grow Anambra economy

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has urged corps members in the State to support and promote indigenous products, particularly Made in Nigeria goods.

He said such support would grow the state economy, empower local entrepreneurs, and create sustainable jobs for the people.

Speaking on Friday at the Swearing In Ceremony of 1,830 Batch C Stream Two corps members at NYSC Camp Umuawulu/Mbaukwu,Awka South Local Government Area of the State, the governor urged them to be torchbearers of national integration, tolerance and unity upon which the nation’s progress rests.

Soludo, represented by his Chief of Staff, Ernest Ezeajuh encouraged them to utilise favourable youth development opportunities in the state, contribute their talents and participate actively in programs that would build their future.

“Rest assured, your safety and security are top priorities for my administration. Security operatives have been deployed to every corner of the state to ensure your well being”

Commissioner of Youth Development,Hon Patrick Aghamba, highlighted the critical role of the scheme to national development, describing it as a platform to contribute to the development of the nation.

Aghamba, represented by Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Engr Martin Agbili, while enjoining them to be change agents, listed numerous youth empowerment initiatives provided by government such as One Youth, Two skills which could be keyed into for self reliance.

“Take advantage of opportunities, our state is committed to youth development and we have various programs and initiatives that can benefit you”

Earlier, State Coordinator of NYSC, Mrs Blessing Iruma had told the corp members to imbibe the spirit of the scheme’s focal point “unity in diversity” to sustain the bond that hold the nation together.

“We want to see you work diligently, participate fully and strive to be among the best. I believe each one of you can make your mark,not just here in camp, but in every community you serve”
