A former support group for Labour Party (LP) is putting final touches to her plan to take over the airwaves for the reelection of Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo.
The governorship election has been fixed for November 8, 2025 by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The group, Soludo Grassroot Warriors Initiative which recently decamped to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) on Saturday held a closed door meeting on the modalities to ensure that the achievements of the incumbent governor is aired on popular Radio and Television stations.
Addressing newsmen after the meeting, Convener and Founder of the group, Chief Hon Rogers Chiedozie Orjiewulu said the local government areas officials and other stakeholders who participated in the meeting, decided to meet and finetune the plans to run the achievements of the incumbent governor on radio and television stations as well as other media.
He said, “We are not rookies in election matters, we know fully well that the time for campaign has not come. What we just want to do at the moment is to showcase Gov Soludo’s projects, programs and achievements in the media on our bill.
“Soludo Grassroot Warriors Initiative can be likened to the Biblical Apostle Paul who became the Apostle of Jesus Christ last and worked more than all other followers of Christ.
“We believe in Gov Soludo and we are fully persuaded that none of the aspirants trying to come out in the November 8 guber polls can replicate what the incumbent is doing not to talk of doing more than him.
“I’m saying this with all sense of responsibility, we know all the aspirants, we know their capabilities, capacities, and weaknesses, honestly, none of them can stand up to the incumbent governor, Prof Charles Soludo.
“I don’t want to say more than that, but if they continue their negative brand of politicking, we may have to remind them of what their private life and businesses look like.
“Our group saw Gov Soludo’s unprecedented landmark achievements in less than three years in office and that was why we left our former political party, Labour Party (LP), Gov Soludo is doing fantastically well, there is no need to distract him at all, what all lovers of good should be doing now, is to support him.
“When the time for campaigns for the governorship election is ripe, I assure you that we are going to run a very robust campaign that will send many seasonal guber aspirants out of the state.
“The agenda to highlight some of Gov Soludo’s projects and achievements will not be limited to radio and television stations. We will use social media, reputable newspapers and other avenues to get the job done.”
The tough talking Convener applauded tge goveenor for the Agunechemba (Udo Ga-Chi) security initiative which he said has finally shut the mouth of naysayers.
“Any aspirant who doesn’t mean well for Ndi-Anambra that has been thinking of hinging his or her governorship election campaign on insecurity should start thinking of another thing to do.
“Anambra people and residents alike are happy with the incumbent governor, nothing more, nothing less,” he asserted.
