Azuka’s murder: Anambra sympathizes with family, Assembly, others, hails security agencies over culprits’ arrest

Anambra State Government has expressed shock over the killing of member of the Anambra State House of Assembly representing Onitsha North State Constituency I, Hon. Justice Azuka.

Commissioner for Information, Dr Law Mefor, in a statement, commiserated with the Speaker and members of State House of Assembly, Azuka’s family and his constituency, among others, praying God to grant his soul eternal rest.

He commended the swift and decisive action of the security agencies, particularly in arresting those behind the heinous act, describing such efforts as testament to government’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.

The statement reads, “The regrettable passing of Hon. Justice Azuka, member of the Anambra State House of Assembly representing Onitsha North State Constituency I, is deeply felt by the Anambra State Government.

“The government commiserates with the Speaker and members of Anambra State House of Assembly, his family and his constituency, among others. May his soul be granted eternal rest by the Lord.

“Government commends the swift and decisive action of the security agencies, who worked tirelessly to fish out the criminals responsible for this heinous act.

“Their efforts are a testament to government’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens and the efficacy of the state’s new security strikeforce, Operation Udo Ga-Achi, which has been recording strings of successes since its inauguration on January 18, 2025.

“Government firmly assures of its commitment to ensuring that justice is served speedily against the culprits and all those connected with the dastardly act.

“Government again calls on Ndi Anambra to continue to support the efforts of the security agencies and the government of Anambra state to make the State safe for all and crime-free.

“Together, we shall build a safer, more secure, and more prosperous Anambra State where everyone can live, work, invest and enjoy.”
