A lawyer and community leader in Anambra State, Barr Nonso Madu has leaned his weight behind Anambra state Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo over the recent security initiative of the government codenamed “Operation Udo Ga Achi’,
Insecurity had surged to an all-time high, necessitating the setting up of the initiative with the Agunechemba outfit.
In the past one month, several camps have been raided and daredevil criminals either caught or neutralized, resulting in calm across parts of the state.
However, some quarters have criticized the operation launched against insecurity by the state government, alleging all forms of malpractices, especially using the force to crack down on political opponents.
But Barr Madu, who spoke in a chat with our correspondent in Owerre-Ezukalla his country home, described the setting up of the Force to rid the state of all forms of criminality, as highly commendable.

He said the recent successful raids on the criminals hideouts and camps in Umunze, Ogbunka and Owerre Ezukala all in Orumba South LGA, and other communities in the state, showed the government’s commitment to stamping out crime in the state.
He however urged that the raids on the border communities be intensified as 70% of the criminal activities in Anambra state could be traced to the criminal camps in some border communities with Orumba South.
Madu, who was a 2017 Gubernatorial aspirant in Anambra under APGA, advised that a security trust fund be set up and for well-to-do individuals to donate to the trust fund solely to help Government in tackling insecurity in the State.
“I want to equally urge our people, well- to- do and public-spirited individuals of the state to join hands with the Soludo-led administration to make Anambra a safe haven for Ndi Anambra.
“Government cannot do it alone. Intelligence reports must come from the people. And also, security costs money, so our wealthy brothers and sisters should invest in security in the state.
“I assured Governor Soludo of my continued support to his administration,” Madu pledged.
The legal practitioner further hailed the massive infrastructural development currently going on in the state, which he noted, has turned Anambra state into a big construction site.
According to him, with the pace at which the governor is going, he will definitely surpass his predecessors and place Anambra on the map as one of the most-developed states in Nigeria.
