A middle aged man who was paraded as an ‘unknown gunman’ by Anambra State government vigilantes in a recent viral video has regained after it was found that he was mistakenly apprehended.
Last week, a shocking video emerged where the ‘Agunechemba’ vigilantes from Anambra State forcefully arrested several individuals, blindfolding them, and transporting them in a Hilux van in Ogbunka, Owerri-Ezukala.
The men were publicly labeled as criminals, kidnappers, and ‘unknown gunmen’.

Following a prompt investigation into the incident in Owerre-Ezukala, Orumba South local government area of Anambra state, it was revealed that some of those detained were innocent of the charges leveled against them.
Among those wrongly accused was a man from the neighbouring town of Ogbunka, identified as the individual whose face was obscured with a cloth during the arrest.
Majority of them have been released to their various families, thanks to the effort by some community leaders.
