Spiritual Director of Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Uke, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma (aka Ebube Muonso) has expressed worry over gradual extinction of writing and reading culture among Nigerians.

He said going back to the time of Chinua Achebes, Cyprian Ekwensis and other prolific writers would go a long way in assisting Nigerians ignite writing and reading culture.

The cleric spoke in Onitsha, Anambra state while launching the book titled: ‘The Space Between”, written by Mrs. Veronica Osanakpo, Proprietress of Blossom Fount Group of Schools, Onitsha

Reflecting of the extinction of writing and reading culture, Obimma said: ‘Christ has given marriage the benefit of a Sacrament and if any marriage is built after the mind of Christ, it must surely survive.

“Knowledge is power. There is nothing that empowers people more than knowledge. I advise we go back to the time of Chinua Achebes, Cyprian Ekwensis and other prolific writers and imbibe reading culture because by learning, we become wiser”.

The cleric praised the author for making use of the inspirational opportunity given to her to educate the populace on the need to live a fulfilled family life among married couples.

On the Anambra 2025 governorship election, the cleric said, “God has the final say. But then, if Governor Soludo is doing roads and putting up security as he is doing and he continues this way, what else do Ndi Anambra want?”

Earlier, the author, Mrs. Veronica Osanakpo has charged married couples and their family members not to despair amidst economic challenges currently plaguing the nation.

She identified trust, communications, support in relationship, transformation and power of love to be among challenges facing many families.

While urging Nigerians to pursue their passions and never to give up on their dreams, Osanakpo expressed optimism that the book would remind readers of power of love and relationships to transform lives.

“One of the takeaways from this book is the importance of setting boundaries and prioritizing self-care, especially for young wives and mothers.

“Even in the midst of challenges, we can find strength, hope and resilience,” she added.

The author expressed gratitude to loved ones, friends and welll wishers for the support accorded her during her journey to write, edit and produce the book.

“It’s my earnest prayers that this book will inspire the readers, challenge and remind them of the power of love and relationships to transform their lives so they can embark on their creative journeys to pursue their passions and never give up on their dreams,” she added.

Former Deputy Governorship candidate in Anambra state, Prince Dr. Emeka Eze who chaired the occasion described the author as a virtuous woman, highly proficient and educator who had impacted on lives of many families.

Identifying factors necessary for building a stable home, Eze, Chief Medical Director of Toronto Hospital, Onitsha encouraged everyone to go for the book which he said would mould their family background.

He said, “I feel highly elated to be here for the book launch. Contrary to the sayings that a book should not be judged by its cover, this particular book will be judged by its cover or title.

“Vero Osanakpo, the author of this book is a virtuous woman, a highly proficient lady and educator. She has impacted on lives of many families.

“Many kids passed through her school and became champions educationally. Her family is very distinguished and notable by their moral rectitude. I therefore encourage everyone to go for this book and read it so as to help mould their family background”.
