Commissioner of Police Anambra State, CP Ikioye Orutugu has pledged the Command’s readiness to partner with Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) to organise sports competitions with market community and relevant stakeholders to enhance Police’s relationship with the public as well as promote sense of community bonding and trust.
The CP who disclosed this while receiving members of State Chapter of SWAN in his office described the initiative as a great way to promote social cohesion and improve communication between law enforcement and the public.

“This will create a positive and engaging environment for the public, and by so doing showcase the importance of sports in building bridges between law enforcement and the community,” he stated.
Orutugu further hinted that the Command would be liaising with SWAN to review the proposal to enable them select the participants and the theme of the competition accordingly.
Earlier, Chairman of the SWAN in the State, Mr Chimezie Ananso thanked the CP for receiving the association and expressed readiness to partner with the Command to actualize its goals.
CP Orutugu’s commitment to community policing and public engagement is evident in his efforts to partner with various stakeholders, to end violent crimes in the State.
