Executive members of Abia State Indigenes Forum (AIF), the Umbrella body of all Abia citizens residing in Anambra State have paid a courtesy visit to the Onitsha Police Area Commander, Mr. Chidiebere Nzota.
Speaking during the visit, President of the Forum, Comrade Damian Ogudike, said they came to felicitate as well as commend him on the success recorded so far in crime reduction in Onitsha area since he assumed office.
“We, the representative of Abia State citizens in the State are here to say “thank you” for the good job the Police under your command is doing in Onitsha Area Command so far since you took over mantle of leadership in the Area Command.
“We’re also in your office to welcome and thank you for your new position as a bonafide son of Abia State,” he added.
Attributing the good job to Nzota’s efficient leadership, Ogudike noted that since the police boss took over the leadership, crime rate had reduced drastically, allowing peace and tranquility to take over the commercial city.
He formally invited him to join them as a member of the forum since he hails from Abia State.

He added, “The aim and aspiration of the forum is to foster brotherly love, unity, protection of members’ rights, political enlightenment and education, among others.
“We are proud of you and will like to invite you to join us to make Abia State proud in Anambra State. We are also proud of you because of the quality of leadership you have given the Police in Onitsha Area Command.
“Crime has reduced drastically in Onitsha and environs, making everywhere to be peaceful now.”

Responding, Area Commander, who doubles as an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) noted that he was full of joy for having his brothers in his office to felicitate with him as well as commend him for the improvement of security in Onitsha and environs.
He urged members of the forum not to relent on being each other’s keeper, stressing that there is nothing more than love for one another.
ACP Nzota admonished them on the need to always remember to be patriotic to Abia State and Anambra State, where they are working.
He also advised them to be good citizen and avoid anything that would get them involved in criminal activity which could deter them from making progress.
“My brothers let us support our Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, who is doing well. Let us help him to succeed more, I believe he is God sent for the State. So wherever we are let us work to ensure he succeeds further.
“We should also support Governor Soludo by being good citizens” said ACP Nzota.
One of the patrons of the forum, Prince Obiagu Omenukoaku showered encomiums on the Area commander, saying, “from what I observed and discovered from private investigation I conducted about him, he is a well-bred, intelligent and professional officer to the core”.
