According to a recent release by Statisense(a private Data collation organization),Anambra State has failed to make the top 12 list in the recent NECO examination performance rankings in Nigeria.

While Anambra was missing on the list, Abia and Imo State came first and second scoring 83.4% and 80.98% respectively.

Also the result showed that Ebonyi (80.55%),Cross River(76.68%) and Delta State (76.29%) came 3rd,4th and 5th respectively.
Enugu State was equally missing on the top 12 list.

This comes as a surprise to many, given the state’s historical dominance in academic performance. In previous years, Anambra has consistently ranked high, with some years even topping the charts. In 2015, for instance, Anambra recorded almost 80% success rate in NECO exams.

Anambra’s absence from the top 12 list has sparked reactions about the state’s current educational performance under Governor Charles Soludo’s administration.

Meanwhile, some social media users have attributed the failure to Governor Soludo’s declining investment in Education, while others speculate it could be due to the governor’s efforts to curb exam malpractice.
