The Anambra State House of Assembly has sworn in Mrs Mimi Azikiwe as the member representing Onitsha North Constituency 1.
Mrs Azikiwe is the winner of the recently concluded by election for Onitsha North Constituency 1.
She was sworn in by the Speaker of the House, Mr Somtochukwu Udeze who presided over plenary on thursdag at the legislative chambers.
Mrs Azikiwe, who becomes the second female lawmaker in the 8th Assembly, takes over the seat formerly occupied by late Honourable Justice Azuka who was kidnapped and murdered in 2024.

The Speaker while administering the Oath of Office and Allegiance on the law maker, congratulated her for the victory at the polls and urged her to bring wealth of knowledge and experience to bear in the discharge of her legislative duties.
Mr Udeze encouraged the new law maker to work harmoniously with colleagues for the overall progress of her constituency and the state, assuring of the Assembly’s support in carrying out her responsibilities.
