Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has donated an additional ₦10 million to Dominican College, Abatete, in Anambra State.

This brings his total contribution to the institution to ₦35 million, following an earlier donation of ₦25 million in July 2025.

Obi, who is funding the construction of a boys’ hostel at the school, inspected the ongoing project during his visit. He emphasized the importance of investing in education, stating that it is crucial for shaping responsible future leaders and reducing crime and insecurity.

Obi wrote:

“Yesterday, I visited Dominican College, Abatete, where I donated an additional ₦10 million and inspected the ongoing boys’ hostel project, which I am helping to fund. This contribution builds on my earlier ₦25 million donation when I laid the foundation in July 2025.

“I am always encouraged when I see such investments translating into the development of responsible future leaders for our country—young people who, without education and proper guidance, could easily be drawn into crime or insecurity.

“Over the years, I have also supported the institution with a female hostel, buses, computers, generators, internet connectivity, and a borehole—consistent efforts aimed at improving the learning environment for our children.

“During the visit, I encouraged the students to remain focused on their studies and personal growth. Our investments in education are not for show; they are deliberate efforts to secure a better future for our young people and for our nation”.

Obi’s donation is part of his broader efforts to support education and healthcare institutions across Nigeria, with over ₦1 billion donated to various schools and hospitals since the beginning of 2025.
