The grand finale was a spectacle, highlighted by a series of exciting competitions that kept guests entertained and cheering throughout the day.

The much-anticipated dance competition was won by Ebere Obi, a gifted dancer from Ihiala who is based in Awka, earning widespread applause for her exceptional performance.

Also drawing massive attention were the drinking and eating contests, where participants displayed remarkable endurance, skill, and determination. Winners and participants alike went home fulfilled, receiving cash prizes and attractive gift items, all generously provided by the bar’s visionary Chief Executive Officer, Ogbuefi Ndubuisi Eze.

In keeping with the establishment’s long-standing culture of warmth and hospitality, regular customers and friends were treated to complimentary servings of the bar’s famous star delicacy—Abacha—paired with freshly tapped palm wine.

The three-day extravaganza was further enlivened by electrifying performances from up-and-coming music artists, talented dancers, vibrant Masters of Ceremonies, and the energetic DJ BANKS, ensuring nonstop entertainment from start to finish.

The event also served as a perfect finale to the yuletide season, attracting many returnees who were in Awka while transiting to their various destinations.

Many attendees described the celebration as “superb,” colourful, and unforgettable, as locals and visitors alike joined in the festivities.

Tributes to a Visionary Entrepreneur

Several prominent patrons, including Vincent Uyalor, Asika Ikem, Patrick Anaso, Mr. Odumeje (Lagos), and others, who took turns to commend Ogbuefi Ndubuisi Eze for his unwavering dedication and business discipline.

They praised him for successfully running the establishment for an entire decade without interruption or major incidents—a remarkable achievement within Nigeria’s challenging business environment, often characterized by inconsistent power supply, multiple taxation, insecurity, and unstable economic policies.

The loyal customers further called on the Anambra State Government, through its relevant agencies, to formally recognize and honour entrepreneurs like Eze, whose businesses continue to promote the state positively within the national entertainment and hospitality industry.

In his heartfelt address, Ogbuefi Ndubuisi Eze expressed profound gratitude to patrons for their unwavering support over the past ten years. He reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining excellence and remaining unmatched in the delivery of authentic Igbo delicacies, particularly the signature Abacha and fresh palm wine that have become synonymous with Nwoke Udi Palmwine Bar.

Reflecting on the early struggles of the business, Eze shared valuable lessons from his entrepreneurial journey and offered advice to aspiring young business owners.

According to him, “Patience, focus, reliability, truthfulness, and total dedication are the keys to lasting success.”

Over the last ten years, Nwoke Udi Palmwine Bar has received numerous awards in recognition of its outstanding service quality, cultural preservation, and contributions to society.

Beyond entertainment, the establishment has made a meaningful socio-economic impact by creating employment for hundreds of people, with its workforce steadily expanding to meet growing customer demand.

As the bar enters its second decade, it stands as a powerful symbol of resilience, consistency, cultural pride, and entrepreneurial excellence, not only in Awka but beyond.

Congratulations to Mazi Ndubuisi Eze and the entire Nwoke Udi team—here’s to many more years of authentic Igbo hospitality and success.
