The Anambra State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of Barrister Tochukwu Nweke as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, alongside Mr. Izunna Okafor as Commissioner for Finance.
The confirmations followed the consideration of nominees forwarded by the state government, with lawmakers endorsing both appointments after review.
Nweke, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, is expected to oversee the state’s justice system, bringing his legal expertise and professional experience to the role.
In the same sitting, the Assembly also approved a request permitting the governor to appoint up to 16 Special Advisers to support governance and policy implementation across various sectors.
The approvals form part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the administrative structure of the state government.
