A former legislative aide to two former members of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Ekene Iwuchukwu, has formally joined the race to represent Nnewi North Constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly. Mr. Iwuchukwu, who declared his aspiration on Sunday at his maternal home, where he received blessings and an early endorsement, assured APGA faithful of his continued service to the party and members upon his election. The well-attended declaration was graced by the local government party executive, ward executive, and other members of APGA, as well as his friends and relatives.
Mr. Ekene Iwuchukwu is a graduate of Political Science from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, with a master’s degree in Political Science from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. He is also a successful businessman and has been in APGA for nearly two decades.
During his declaration on Sunday, many party leaders and members attested to his humility, trustworthiness, and heart of service, as well as his devotion to APGA. His Otolo ward 1 chairman and other members of the party in his ward attested to his selfless service and commitment to the party for years.
The high point of his declaration was the endorsement and blessing from his maternal home, conducted by two of his uncles, Mr. Goddy Akabuogu and Barrister Ugochukwu Ilechukwu, as well as one of the oldest women in the family.
The aspirant, Mr. Ekene Iwuchukwu, charged the party members and leaders to judge him by his antecedents, assuring that he is going to deliver nothing short of strong representation for Ndi Nnewi, while offering all necessary support to the governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, to accelerate the great transformation he is overseeing in Anambra State.
