Soludo Congratulates NYSC On Fiftieth Anniversary

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has congratulated the National Youth Service Scheme for its commitment to fostering nation unity for the past fifty years of the scheme’s existence.

Governor Soludo stated this through his Chief of Staff, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi when he formally declared the 2023 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Orientation Course closed.

The Governor reminded the corps members that the federal government has invested so much in the scheme through different activities and trainings aimed at churning out vibrant educated youths such as, Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development, Financial inclusion, Funding options for the SAED programmes, Digital skills and many others.

The Governor asked them to aspire to reciprocate by keying into them with a view to making themselves relevant to the society, reminding them that as they step into the second cardinal program of being introduced to various employers, seriousness and hard work should be thier watchword.

He revealed that Anambra State has enjoyed the collaboration of National Youth Service Corps and the skillful services rendered by Corps Members, expressing the optimism of supporting the operations and ideals of the scheme.

“The Anambra State Government has adequate plans and welfare for you. Ndi Anambra in their usual hospitable nature are all aware and are waiting to integrate you into their fold.

“You are required to respect the culture of your host communities and be ready to contribute your quota towards their Developmental Agenda”, the Governor stated.

“In Anambra State, we have a tradition of rewarding hard work at the end of the service in form of different Awards and the process for the selection starts right from the camp.

“The success story we are seeing today could not have been possible without the team spirit exhibited by the Camp Officials and I want to thank you immensely for the synergy”.

He appreciated the Traditional Rulers of the two host communities, Igwe Joel Egwuonwu of Umuawulu and Igwe Peter Aniugwu of Mbaukwu as well as the people of the two communities for their hospitality.
