Anambra Police Commissioner, Adeoye Orders Removal Of Awka B-Division DPO Over Extortion Allegations

Anambra state Commissioner of Police, Mr Aderemi Adeoye has in one of his press briefings disclosed that he has ordered the immediate removal of the Divisional Police Officer in charge of B Division Awka, following allegations of extortion against him by citizens of the State.

Recall that the DPO of B Division has been called out on numerous occasions by the people, especially those living in Awka and environs on how he illegally arrest people without any offense, only to bill them upto #20,000 for their freedom.

Mr. Adeoye further disclosed that investigations are still ongoing and if found guilty of the allegations, the DPO will face the law.

He reiterated that Anambra Police Command under his watch will never allow harassment or extortion of the citizens. He assured Ndi Anambra of improved security across the state as his leadership will not tolerate crimes of any form.
