Yes, a new justice oputa has arrived in our judiciary. Justice Pete Obiora is a special person; highly knowledgeable in law and fearless; firm in his approach to justice, yet friendly. His intellectual sagacity is top-notch and worthy of emulation. His carriage and aura edifies the profession.
He is diligent, outspoken, hardworking and above all astute. He is not only a good judge but also a good lecturer as he uses his court hall to educate learned colleagues.
He is aware of his duty as a judge and does not shy away from it. As a public officer appointed to decide cases in a law court, he assumes such responsibility with charisma, pride and honour and conduct himself as an impartial umpire. His judgements are based on evidence provided and in accordance with the laws.
He’s not a fan of technicalities but an apostles of substantive justice. Pete is a cerebral judge with good knowledge of the law. He possesses a strong understanding of the law and court procedures that helps him to facilitate fair legal trials and hearing. He has critical thinking skills that helps him to properly oversee a trial and make decisions in response to legal motion or hand down a sentence.
Hon. Justice Pete Obiora JCA also has the empathy that enables him to relate to all parties that help him to make the right decision during court proceedings. Needless do I mention his communication skills that placed him above his equals.
We are proud of this wise man chosen among us to handle dispute among conflicting parties. His fairness and unbiased disposition endeared him to our hearts.
In Justice Obiora’s court there are no friends and foes. There are no foreigners and indigenes, every body is equal. No preferential treatment, no rich and poor man. You can never buy Justice in his court no matter how highly placed you are.
It is because of the above qualities of Hon. Justice Pete Obiora that we are bold to say that Hon. Justice Pete Obiora is a gift to Anambra state judiciary and by extension, to the country.
He is very courageous and not afraid to do justice to a deserving person or class. When you are looking for justice without fear or favour, the first name that readily comes to mind is Justice Obiora.
He is a strong Christian who abides by the teaching of the holy Bible. He is always guided by the admonition of the holy Bible, in Exodus 23:1 – 9 that
warned as follows:
Do not spread false rumors and do not help a guilty man by giving false evidence. Do not follow the majority when they do wrong or when they provide evidence that perverts justice. Do not show partiality to a poor man at his trial.
If you happen to see your enemy’s cow or donkey running loose, take it back to him. If his donkey has fallen under his load, help him get the donkey to its feet again, and don’t walk away.
Do not deny justice to a poor man when he appears in court. Do not make false accusation and so not put an Innocent person to death, for I will condemn any one who has done such an evil thing.
Do not accept a bribe, for a bribe makes people blind from what is right and ruins the cause of those who are innocent.
Although no man is infallible, I can say categorically that our own Justice Pete Obiora is exceptional. He is one in a million. The country shall definitely benefit from the fountains of this jurist’s wealth of wisdom.
My Lord, I wish you well in your new office and I’m looking forward to seeing you elevated to the apex court in the nearest future. Once again, congratulations and I pray for a successful tenure in your new office.
