Civil Liberties Organization CLO Anambra State has appealed to Governor Charles Soludo and Ohaneze Ndigbo to accord befitting burial to former governor of Anambra State and presidential Adviser Chief Dr.Pius Ezeife in appreciation of his selfless services and sacrifices towards socioeconomic,political development of Anambra State,southeast and Nigeria.
This is contained in a press state issued to newsmen tagged “let us give honour to whom honour is due”endorsed by Evangelist Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme chairman and secretary respectfully described Dr.Ezeife as patriotic,prudent,selfless,transparent servant leader with impeccable character and integrity.
He was in the forefront in agitation for socioeconomic justice for southeast,election of Nigeria President of Igbo extraction,creation of additional state for southeast,unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu,an end to Monday sit at home,improved security and strict implementations of Gowon’s post war three R,Reconciliation,Reconstruction and Rehabilitation and constitution of Southeast Development Commission.
As governor he was prudent, transparent, patriotic, selfless, humble and contented.
As permanent secretary he has unblemish track records and as Presidential Adviser he told the president out of patriotism what he needs to know and do.
He laid the foundation of new Anambra State, introduced think home philosophy and weekly town hall meeting with cross seçtions of citizens.He left homongous amount of money in government coffers while leaving office.
He played indispensable roles before,during and after Nov.2021 governorship election and ensure that people’s votes counts.He also mobilized the people of southeast and beyond to participates actively during last year general election.
Pertinently,the apogee of his patriotism and love for his people when he declined to celebrates his 85th birthday due to incarceration of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and inability to actualized Nigeria President of Igbo extraction.
Okwadike was voice for the voiceless,detribalized, always stand for what is right,fair,just and credible regardless the consequences.
This is appropriate time for government and people of Anambra,southeast and OHANEZE to reciprocates sacrifices and selfless services rendered to Ndigbo by Chief Dr.Pius Chukwuemeka Ezeife.
CLO equally calls on both Federal and Anambra state to immortalize him.
The National Assembly should out of patriotism expedite actions towards passage of a bill for an act establishing Southeast Development Commission as greatest and best tribute to Late Harvard trained economist and political icon Chief Dr Pius Ezeife (Okwadike Igboukwu).
